- 1 fondue Chic! à la bière (beer) by 1001 Fondues, 350 g (12 oz.)
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, finely chopped
- Leaves from 4 sprigs of fresh thyme
- 1 kg (2 lb) yellow-fleshed potatoes, peeled and sliced about ½ cm (1/4 in.) thick
- heavy-duty aluminum foil
- Salt and pepper
- Preheat one side of the BBQ to high heat.
- Divide the potatoes into 4 aluminum foil papillotes (pouches). Season and add onion.
- Prepare the fondue according to package cooking instructions. Add garlic and thyme.
- Pour the fondue over the potatoes. Cover the papillotes and seal well.
- Cook the papillotes over indirect heat for 20 minutes. Rotate the papillotes and continue cooking for 15 to 20 minutes or until the potatoes are tender.
- Option: This recipe is also suitable for baking in the oven. Cooking method: Preheat oven to 190ºC (375ºF). Bake in the centre of the oven for 35 to 40 minutes or until potatoes are tender.
