
- 1 fondue Chic! à la Bière (beer) by 1001 Fondues, snack size, 125 g (4 oz.)
- A little vegetable oil
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 bay leaves
- 3 sprigs of fresh thyme
- 800 g (1 ¾ lb) Tapp (or other brand) sauerkraut, drained
- 180 g (6 oz) ham or smoked bacon, cut into cubes
- 1 local craft beer of your choice
- 6 to 8 sausages of your choice
- 12 baby potatoes, cooked
- In a large skillet or saucepan, heat oil over medium heat. Add onion and herbs and cook 4 to 5 minutes. Add sauerkraut, ham or salt pork and beer and cook for 20 to 25 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Cook sausages in a pan with a little oil. Add to sauerkraut. Add potatoes and continue cooking for 4 to 5 minutes.
- Prepare the fondue, according to package cooking instructions.
- Divide sauerkraut among 4 serving dishes. Spread the cheese fondue and season with pepper.
